BACKGROUND
In College I
studied Chemistry, Biology and Art at A-level, but I preferred drawing and painting, so decided to concentrate
on Art and Design. After getting a BTEC from Salisbury Art College
I didn't go straight to university. Instead worked for several years
in my family's independent jewellery business, Solitaire Jewellers,
where I sold, repaired and even designed and made jewellery.
After a while I decided the Jewellery trade was'nt for me after all, and wanted to do more with my art and design
skills. So I looked into further education. I discovered that it was
possible to create computer art without needing to know programming
or a great deal about computers. Inspired by this I enrolled at
Ealing University (TVU), as a mature student to study Digital Arts
and Animation BA Hons. After which I continued my 3D education by
studying Maya at Escape Studios, London, full time for 3 months
where I learnt much more than any university could provide.
I recently
worked at EA Games in Surrey.
I was taken on board to be part of a small team that tested Battlefield 2's level editor by creating simple 3D models and textures that could be imported into the game. I was also involved in testing two expansions for Battlefield 2; Armored Fury and Euro Force. And involved in testing the futuristic Battlefield 2142.
In June 2007-June 2008 I worked at VectorCommand as a Multimedia Developer.The
company provides simulations for training emergency services, security
agencies, and defence forces around the world. My role involves
making 3D assets like environments, vehicles and animations, and some web design and
video as well. The videos are filmed and edited at Millbank studios in London.
July 2008-Spet 2008 I became a Freelance Maya Artist in London. I mainly worked for a Marketing/Branding company called Ignition. My duties were to create 3d scenes, sets and assests for their promomtional work-and all in a very short space of time!
I am currently working as a Lead 3D Artist and Animator for Manic Monkey (Children's Educational Software) in Surrey. "Manic Monkey brings together over 30 years experience within the world of children’s publishing and award winning specialists in 3D animation and interactive gaming technology – the perfect combination to bring the world of learning alive."
